Changes to HPV Screening Intervals from 1st July 2025

This change will take place from 1^st July 2025. Women aged 25 to 49 who previously have been given routine recall intervals of 3 years will now be given routine recall intervals of 5 years. This change only applies to women who test negative for HPV and have no recent HPV positive or abnormal history (within the last 5 years) and would normally have been given routine recall.

The extended intervals will not be introduced retrospectively, so women previously given 3 yearly recall intervals will remain on 3 yearly intervals until the next HPV negative test.
