GP training practice

Following the successful completion of a practice visit, we are over the moon that we have been approved as a GP Training Practice and Dr Tadevosyan has 3-year approval as a GP educational supervisor.

The practice has been through a thorough assessment against a detailed set of criteria to ensure we have everything in place to offer quality teaching facilities to qualified Doctors (GP Registrars) aspiring to make the transition from being a hospital doctor to a community setting. This approval is recognition of the quality of care we provide and the training opportunities we can offer. The additional benefit for us is that if a trainee is happy at their training practice they often choose to continue there as a salaried GP.

What difference will this make to patients? When we are allocated a GP Registrar:

* On occasions the GPs or Clinician will hold joint surgeries / home visits, with the GP Registrar.

* Sometimes you will see the GP Registrar instead of (or as well as) your own GP and you will be informed of this when you book an appointment.

* Initially the GP Registrar may take longer than most GP appointments but these will shorten to the usual 10 minutes appointments.

* For teaching purposes, some consultations may be video-ed. These videos will only be viewed by Doctors and are destroyed within one year. You will ALWAYS be asked to give written permission both before and at the end of the consultation. Please do say if you would prefer not to be videoed. This will not reflect upon your future care provided.
